Spill the Water Workshops

The workshops/classes we offer here are designed to build or create—not fix or deconstruct.

These spaces are for those on the edge of something new, ready to loosen old habits and intentionall build the life they want in a way that feels nourishing, light, and oddly simple.

Practitioners we work with offer, assess, and iterate their workshops on a weekly and monthly basis using a unique blend of curiosity, flavoring, and design thinking.

All Workshops Follow These Guidelines

Workshops at Spill the Water are a spaces to practice how we relate to ideas, to each other, and to ourselves.

Most of us were taught that things mean one thing only, and that those meanings say something fixed about who we are. This container exists to gently pull those apart.

We’re creating space between:

  • who we were taught we are

  • and who we want to practice behaving like

  • in order to build the life we want to have

That space is relational at its core.

The Foundation of Spill the Water and all Workshops

We treat trying, failing, and trying again as advanced training.
That’s called iteration, and it’s a core skill.

We also let creativity be how we operate, not a reward at the end.

Creativity isn’t optional; it’s the engine.

Iterations are quite simple in design: what works, what didn't, and what do we want to adjust?

Class design will be founded in a practitioner's goals, aims, questions, practices, and adjustment obstacles.

Spill the Water offers each practitioner an iterative space where we create the next step, not the right answer (an advanced learning technique that leverages creativity as a way of operating).

All participants in all workshops will be asked to:

  • Own your yes, no, yellow, and avocado

    • Yellow = take a 5-minute break

    • Avocado = leave for the day/night

  • Hold your emotional well-being as your responsibility

  • Consider others as teammates, not an enemies

  • Earn continued access through consistent presence and practice

  • Burn brightly

What Sessions Look Like

Sessions are designed by the practitioner.

Spill the Water offers practitioners a sounding board and a place to explore what it can look like to conduct a group space as an artist, practitioner, and learner.

How a practitioner designs a given session is their responsibility; however, since iteration is an essential part of the Spill the Water process, classes will inevitably look different week-to-week or month-to-month.

Flavors

Flavors is a sensory-based practice for people who sense there’s more depth, more range, more aliveness available — and want to actually experience it.

Through guided exercises, you’ll heighten your awareness, connect body and emotion, and uncover the hidden meanings shaping your reactions, desires, and relationships. Flavors gives you a lived answer to the question: If I have agency over my experience, how do I practice it?

In each session, you’ll surface emotional patterns, explore the beliefs beneath them, and experiment with new ways of feeling, relating, and creating. There is no “doing it wrong” here — only expanding your palette for being human.

Flavors is especially powerful for those ready to move beyond insight alone and into embodied transformation — deepening intimacy with themselves, their creativity, and others.
